cuffing season, categorical variant

An homage to the Pulse Nightclub shooting, the nests represent a safe haven.  Their architecture was designed to prevent predation.  In a rainbow of colors, they are ceremonial objects and fertility sculptures.

Set up beneath cuffing season, I integrated ancient healing herbs and ceremonies.  A mugwort smudge burned constantly over the weekend, to cleanse the area of bad energy.  I also performed individual smudges on anyone that desired one.

Beneath cuffing season, I set up a mugwort smudging station and  infused mugwort oil for direct application to the skin.

Mugwort is an herb that removes bad energy and calms.

"Anything that will keep the peace is good with me."

Two Orlando police officers consented to be smudged.  They said, "Anything to keep the peace is good with me."  And "I feel calmer already."  Love these guys.

cuffing season

based on Baya Weaver bird nests, where male birds build elaborate anthropomorphic nests that I've transformed into the human generative body.  Once the nest is built, the male attracts a female, mates and settles her into his nest.  He then moves to his "bachelor nest", a half constructed nest, to lure another female for mating.  Once she is attracted, he completes the nest and mates again.
